Effects of 9/11 on Muslim Community:
ReplyDeleteAfter 9/11 Americans have developed a fear of Arabs. Many Americans make generalizations about Arabs assuming they are anti-American, or even terrorists. Arabs have faced increased pressure and harassment since 9/11. "We moved from invisible to guilty by association. It made us reflect ... that we should maybe have done this before. 9/11 was a wake-up call."(Anan Ameri, leader of an Arab advocacy group). Before 9/11 they were barely noticed, but after 9/11, innocent Arab people were treated as predators. Also policemen at airports often racially profile Arabs in order to prevent terrorist attacks. It is good for Americans to be cautious in the short term, however, ultimately this is the first step towards loosing American's freedom and civil rights. however, for Arabic people it is difficult.
Osama bin Laden, Al Qaeda and the Taliban (their role in 9/11):
Osama bin Laden devised the plan for the evemts on 9/11. He convinced young men to martyer themselves and kill over 2,000 other innocent people all because of his hatred for Americans and everything we stand for. The extremist views of Al Queda played right into the repressive notions of the Taliban. Together they were a breeding ground for hatred and self-destructive behavior.
Terrorists Involved in 9/11:
All of the terrorists were young men who were trained to fly by American pilots. They appeared to be ordinary young men with no particular grudge against anyone. Nine out of the nineteen terrorists involved in the attacks on 9/11 are still alive.

An airliner traveling hundred of miles per hour and carrying some 1,000 gallons of jet fuel crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. Not long after, was a second airliner plowed into the South Tower. More than 2,600 people died at the World Trade center and the struggle to know for sure who caused this horrific event is still wavering. The Joint Intelligence Committee Inquiry (JICI) led into the 9/11 attacks by former senator Bob Graham; he insisted that members of the Saudi government played a role. Bob Kerrey, a Democrat from Nebraska agreed with Graham; however, he has said, “…plausible involvement of possible Saudi government agents in the September 11th attacks has never been fully pursued” (The Daily Beast). However, according to the National Commission of Terrorist Attacks Upon the United states, it’s undoubtedly decided Osama Bin Laden carried out these attacks. Other numerous sources have also implied that these attacks were strictly driven by various groups of Islamist extremists.
ReplyDeleteA few Afghanistan groups have been allegedly having a large role in 9/11. Osama Bin Laden, Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Al-Qaida means “base” in Arabic, but has different meanings in different contexts, according to University of California, Davis, professor. In this circumstance, Al-Qaida can refer to Bin Laden’s worldwide terrorist organization, but can as well be the base of operations. The depiction between the two contexts has caused uncertainty. The Times of India (US) recently reported the Taliban having said that their movement had no role in the 9/11 attacks. More confusion has eroded because of those statements; it is a challenge now to believe if Osama Bin Laden, Al-Qaida, and the Taliban ever had a role at all.
Since the attacks by Muslim terrorists on 9/11 Muslim communities all over the world have been exploited with anti-American propaganda. With images that portray false realities of America’s plans in Iraq and Afghanistan, Islamists assemble people and begin the changing process in America. Their desire to teach the Muslim youth that Western-style is contradictory to Islam, schools along with their private “counterparts”, are influencing certain ideas and beliefs threatening to Americans fundamentals. Sadly enough Muslim women are quietly suffering with a terrible side effect from the 9/11 attacks. Reports of domestic violence have been on the rise in the Muslim community; unfortunately, the women feel the need to stay with or return to their abusive husbands. The attacks on 9/11 have seemed more effective to Americans, unknowingly Muslim communities are suffering as much.

There were many different terrorist involved in 9/11. The hijackers that aboard American Airlines Flight 11 were reported to be, Mohamed Atta , Waleed al-Shehri , Wail al-Shehri , Abdulaziz al-Omari , and Satam al-Suqami. Mohammed Atta is actually believed to have flown Flight 11 into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. On Airlines, Flight 175 the hijackers were Marwan al-Shehhi , Fayez Banihammad , Mohand al-Shehri , Hamza al-Ghamdi , and Ahmed al-Ghamdi. Marwan al-Shehhi is believed to have flown the plane into the South Tower. For flight 77 the terrorist were, Khalid al-Mihdhar, Majed Moqed , Nawaf al-Hazmi, Salem al-Hazmi and Hani Hanjour who was believed to have flown the flight into the Pentagon. The hijackers that boarded the United Airlines Flight 93 were reported to be Ahmed al-Haznawi, Ahmed al-Nami, Saeed al-Ghamdi, and Ziad Jarrah is believed to have crashed into the Pennsylvania countryside to prevent an attack by the passengers.
ReplyDeleteOsama Bin Laden was the founderof Al-Qaeda, the jihadist organization responsible for the September 11 attacks on the United States. Not only was he just perpentraitor of the plains that hit the twin tours but he also damaged part of the Pentagon, and resulted in a plane crash in Pennsylvania. The Taliban have been accused of using terrorism as a specific tactic to further their ideological and political goals. The Al-Qaeda has attacked civilian and military targets in various countries, such as the September 11 attack.
Many years after 9/11 the muslim community is still working to show support for its country and end negative stereotypes that arose from the tragedy. People feel that 9/11 sparked heated rhetoric from both sides of the controversy. The Muslims and Arab Americans who suddenly found themselves the objects of suspicion and, in some cases, outright hatred.

There were many different terrorists involved in the September 11th attacks on America. There are the terrorists who hijacked the plans and hit them into the buildings.they are all dead now and for the most part their identities are confirmed. Overall on the four planes there were 19 hijackers, 15 of them from Saudi Arabia. There were five or four hijackers on every flight. Also their were people that worked to get the hijackers their visas which would allow them on the plane. The mastermind of the plot to get hijackers their visas was Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
ReplyDeleteOsama Bin Laden was the founder and long time leader of the Al-Qaeda terrorist group responsible for the attacks on 9/11. Bin Laden was born to billionaire father in 1957 in Saudi Arabia. Bin Laden believed that Americans hated Muslims like him and that the only way to even things out would be violence, which is why he founded Al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda has been weakened very much since the September 11th attacks on America. Intelligence agencies have killed or captured many of Al-Qaeda’s leaders including Bin Laden himself when he was killed in May 2011. The Taliban is a group that came to power in the 1990’s in Afghanistan and remained in power until shortly after 9/11. The Taliban was accused of providing refuge for Bin Laden and the other Al-Qaeda members. Recently the Taliban has made a resurgence in Pakistan and Afghanistan however it is not yet as strong as it was in the 1990’s.
The 9/11 attacks still have a strong influence on the Muslim community in America and only in a very negative way. Muslims are still the victims of stereotypes and hate crimes in America because people perceive them as being responsible for the 9/11 attacks even when almost all Muslims had nothing to do with it. To try and stop this stereotype of Muslims, they have made an effort to denounce the efforts of the terrorists and make sure to honor the people that were killed. Muslims also make an effort to show the world that what the terrorists did isn’t what their religion is about and in fact it is the total opposite, they want peace on earth not more violence.

Hate crimes against "Arabs" increased by more than 1600% after 9/11, according to the FBI. The Arab American institute noted that 45% of school age muslims experienced bullying. ReplyDeleteEarly on 9/11 19 hijackers took control of 4 airplanes. "The attacks were planned and carried out by Al. Qaeda, an Islamic terrorist group. Al. Qaeda, and its founder, Osama bin Laden show the U.S. as an "opressor of muslim states. The group was "determined to wage a terrroist war against the U.S."
Osama Bin Laden was born on March 10, 1957 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He was among the most famous and dangerous militant Islamic leaders in the world. He founded Al Qaeda (Arabic, meaning the base), an international terrorist network responsible for a number of attacks beginning in the early 1990s. Under his leadership, members of Al. Qaeda attacked NYC and Washington DC on 9/11 2001. In Oct. 2001, often the Taliban refused to "extradite" bin laden to stand trial, President Bush launched a campaign of air strikes against Afghanistan to eliminate Al Qaeda and destroy the Taliban. Bin Laden eluded capture until May 1,2011. President Obama announced that bin Laden had been killed by US forces in Pakistan.
Since 9/11 everything has changed. There is more security at airports, schools and sports events. All across the U.S. people are worried about what might come next. Many people canceled plans to fly after 9/11. The airlines said they "lost 19 million booking in the 6 weeks after the attacks." As a result, about 150,000 airline workers lost their jobs. People who fly face long delays because security workers and troops check bags for weapons. But, people are seeing their local police, fire workers, and rescue workers in a new way. After so many people sacrificed their lives at the WTC, people will no longer take their protectors for granted.

The effect of 9/11 on America
It gave Americans a great shock, not only American but through out th e world when it was broadcasted on the news.Alot of people lost their family members. Some people are pissed of because of the attack, yet some still live with the fear that it might occur again. Mental health problems occured in that day as the aftermath of the attack. The arbs were invistagated and suspected more than before.
Summary:
The terrorist were overall too many in some planes but in other passengers fought but unfortunetely the plane crashed. Osama bin Laden was the head and matsermind of the attack, though some article say he never had anything to do with it. The effects on the muslim community were bad, as people stereotyped most muslims, but muslims said that isnt what they preach. Most Americans were traumatised by the attack and other afraid it might happen again.

DeleteOsama Bin Laden is the Islamic militant leader who was the “mastermind” behind the attacks and the man who is reasonable for the events on 9-11. Bin Laden planned out the attacks and was the leader of the men captured by the U.S.A. Bin Laden was the leader of the Islamic group Al Qaeda, 19 terrorists from Al Qaeda hijacked 4 American planes. Al Qaeda also had suicide attacks against targets in the United States. The Taliban did not have a direct role in 9-11, their role was indirectly but significance was major. The Taliban took care of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan at the time of the attacks and allowed them to operate camps in the country. The point is the Taliban gave Al Qaeda the resources they needed to operate the attacks.
ReplyDelete“I'm old enough to remember when boarding an airplane was simple” Tom Bearden of PBS recalls what airport security was before and how it changed since the events on September 11th 2001. One airport that has gone through drastic changes since that date is the Denver International Airport. Two security checkpoints stand in the main terminal in the airport. Since 9-11 the two checkpoints expanded large enough to fill two thirds of the floor space on level five in this huge airport. The security needs to know who is coming in and who is coming out of Denver at all times. Is this appropriate? I think so, the country as a whole needs to make sure something like this never happens again and the changes at the airport eliminates all high jacking of planes in American Air. September 11th 2001 brought a amazing amount of unity to Americans, everyone was effected by this directly or indirectly, everyone stopped doing what they were doing and we all became one nation. In Major League Baseball the playoffs were about to start, an intense battle between 8 teams to try to win the world series, when the news of 9-11 hit the world all of that was forgot about, the rivalries and the hatred were all gone. From Chicago to Atlanta to Seattle to Boston to New York, we were all one team.

The 9-11 attacks on the U.S affected the Muslim Community forever; it affects how the world as a whole looks at them. Crimes in the Muslim Community are more recognized now; it puts them as a community in a spotlight they are unfamiliar with. Abuse of women and violence as a whole has been on a rise in Muslim Communities since 9-11. “It Changed him from a women to a monster” says a Muslim women named Lila, The 9-11 attacks has made Muslim men like monster. Racially it effects the way people look at them and gives them stereotypes. The 9-11 attacks make us as US citizens look at Muslim people and say “It could be them” this is unfair and very racist but in a way true.
They have names; they are normal people just like us. Before 9-11 these men were living a perfectly normal life. Hamza Alghamdi, Saeed Alghamdi, , Khalid Almihdhar, Ahmed Alghamdi, Mohamed Atta, Abdulaziz Alomari were young men training for the U.S military. No one had any idea that Osama Bin Laden has used them for spies against the U.S. Atta and Alomari were part of the flight #11 attacks that crashed into the North tower of the world trade center. Along with them were Satam Suqami, Waleed Alshehri and Wail Alshehri. Nawaf Alhazmi and Khalid Almihdhar of flight 77 lived in San Diego and rented a room from a man who reportedly worked as an undercover FBI informant. There the two attended a flight school. The two were on Flight 77 which crashed into the pentagon along with Majed Moqed, Salem Alhazmi and Hani Hanjour. Two of the U.S military students Hamza Alghamdi and Ahmed Alghamdi were on flight 175 which crashed into the south tower of the world trade center along with Mohand Alshehri, Fayez Rashid and Marwan Al-Shehhi who was the pilot. Ahmed Alnami and Saeed Alghamdi also U.S military students were on flight 93 that crashed into Stony Creek Towship. Also involved were Ahmad Haznawi and pilot Ziad Samir Jarrah. Weather these men were “brain washed” or not they were all involved and played key roles in 9-11.

When thinking about the September 11 attacks on the world trade center, many forget that there were not just a few terrorists involved, but 19. 19 men boarded 4 flights, all headed to different places, and destined to crash. It is confirmed that 15 of the 19 men were Saudi citizens. All of the terrorists involved in the attacks belonged to the terrorist group Al-Qaeda, which was led by Osama Bin-Laden, until his capture and death.
ReplyDeleteAl Qaeda is a terrorist extremist group founded Osama bin Laden. In 1998, Bin Laden issued a religious edict called a fatwa against the United States. It states that it is a Muslim follower’s duty before the Muslim god, Allah, to kill all civilians and military personnel from the US and their allies. Al Qaeda publically vowed to wage terrorist war against the US in effort to establish pro-Islamic government throughout the world. Before 9/11, there were previous attacks on the US from al Qaeda including a car bomb below the World Trade Center in February 1993, which was intended to collapse the towers. The Taliban was the violent and militant government in Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001. With the violence and motives of the Taliban and Al Qaeda combined, they created a plan for mass destruction.
Since the 9/11 attacks, there has been a great effect on the Muslim community. Since then, domestic violence and abuse has drastically increased in the community. In the American-Muslim community, hate crimes have rapidly increased. Hate crimes against Muslims were small in numbers, about 30 incidents per year, before the attacks. However after, that number increased to about 150 per year. Arabs and Muslims have been stereotyped and discriminated against as automatically being a threat and a terrorist. They are more likely to get randomly searched at airports than any other white citizen.
After the September 11th attacks, America was more united than ever before. There was a great wave of patriotism that swept the nation, from the east to the west coast. American flags were hoisted up poles everywhere, and search and clean up efforts were huge. Every year, there is an anniversary memorial for the attacks, and just last year the official memorial was opened to the public. Of course, America has also gone to great lengths to prevent a tragedy like this one from happening again. The Department of Homeland Security has put about 40 billion dollars towards rebuilding the airport security system post 9/11. The Obama administration mandated extra security, such as full body pat-downs. However, these pat-downs are for people flying into the US from 14 mostly Muslim countries; Afghanistan, Algeria, Lebanon, Libya, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Yemen must receive these extra security checks.
“Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, these acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of the American resolve.”

ReplyDeleteDuring the 9/11 attacks their were an estimated 19 hijackers. Which means there were 4 o 5 per plane, the alleged pilots were Hani hanijour, Marwan Al-Shehhi, Ziad Samir Jarrah, and Fayez Mashid. All of these men were just a counter measure in their hole operation to cause a lot of chaos and try to defeat the American spirits. Their were a confirmed 15 Saudi Arabians that were on the planes or in the operation itself. And behind this hole operation was the skum bag Osamma bin Laden the Islam was apparently running the operation. But he was shot and killed at a hideout by Americans over the summer.
ReplyDeleteOsama Bin Laden was the man behind the plan in the 9/11 tragedy. But Bin Laden has help from his terrorist group called "Al Qaeda". Osama Bin Laden made a statement that it was his job to kill civilians and the military and there friends/allies. I remember when my dad came home in shock after the car bomb in the 1990's another work of Osama and his dysfunctional minions. The Taliban was in Afgahnistan, and teamed up with Al Qeada is a disaster waiting to happen.
the effects on 9/11 on the Muslim Community has been pretty bad per say. Now from experience every time I've been to an airport and see a man with a turban i think their called everyone gives them nasty looks and they are the first people to get checked at airport security i almost feel bad. But on top of that the crime and incidents are way up about 500%.

Osama Bin Laden was the clear leader of the 9/11 attacks. He evolved from a volunteer fighter into an international terrorist leader. He fought in Afganistan's war with the Soviet Union. As he rose to political dominance he became obsessed with worldwide Islamic revolution. Osama Bin Laden created a terrorist group called Al Qaeda, this was the group that was responsible for what happened on 9/11. 4 planes were hijacked by members of Al Qaeda that day, two of them crashing into the world trade center, one into the pentagon, and one into a field.
ReplyDeleteOther important members in Bin Laden's terrorist group include Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi, Hani Hanjour, and Ziad Samir Jarrah. All these men were both pilots in the 9/11 attacks and leaders of Al Qaeda. Mohamed Atta and Ziad Jarrah spent time together in the late 1990s when they attended the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg in Germany. Atta was known for his cold-hearted demeanor. Al Shehhi and Atta earned their piloting licenses together in Venice. Ziad Jarrah was born in Taliban, moved to Germany as he got older and eventually came to the United States and got his piloting license.
Obviously, the September 11 attacks had a profound affects on all Americans. However it is often overlooked that there was also a large affect on the Muslim community. There is now a prejudice against Muslims in America that seems to be nationwide. People in the United States began to associate all Muslims with terrorist attacks just because a select group of Muslims completed a horrible travesty against the US.
The 9/11 attacks were conducted by a small groups of Muslim men. These men were led by Osama Bin Laden. Because of this, America has began to stereotype against all Muslims and even all Arab Americans. The 9/11 attacks were immediately devistational to American society but also had a negative long term on Muslims.

Mohamed Atta, Abdulaziz Alomari Satam M.A. Al Suqami, Wail M. Alshehri, and Waleed M. Alshehri were the terrorists involved in American Airlines Flight 11. Mohamed Atta is believed to be the mastermind behind all the 9/11 attacks. All of these heinous terrorists are from Saudi Arabia, except for Mohamed Atta who is Egyptian. Atta was the leader of the group and the others helped hijack the plane and crash it into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Marwan al-Shehhi, Fayez Banihammad, Ahmed Alghamdi, Hamza Alghamdi, and Mohand Alshehri were the terrorists on United Airlines Flight 175 that crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. Marwan al-Shehhi was the pilot that took over flight 175 and he trained with Mohamed Atta many times. Hani Hanjour, Nawaf Alhazmi, Majed Moqed, Khalid Almihdhar, and Salem Alhazmi hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon. Hani Hanjour was the pilot of this group and he met a few times with Atta to plan the attacks. Ziad Samir Jarrah, Saeed Alghamdi, Ahmed Ibrahim A. Al Haznawi, and Ahmed Alnami hijacked United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. Ziad Samir Jarrah was the coward who took control of this crew and he was very close to Mohamed Atta.
ReplyDeleteWithout much time and supporting evidence, President Bush concluded that Osama Bin Laden and his al-Qaeda organization were behind these attacks. Ever since September 11th, 2001, Bin Laden had been hiding from the United States. In 2004, Bin Laden admitted he was responsible for the attacks. He said he was the one who directed the 19 hijackers and told them what to do. Bin Laden was in charge of the terrorist group called al-Qaeda, that was created in 1988. All of the 9/11 hijackers were part of al-Qaeda suicide squads. The Taliban is a strict Islamic group that ruled Afghanistan prior to 2001. The Taliban formed an alliance with al-Qaeda and gave permission to Bin Laden and his terrorist group to train in Afghanistan, where they were hidden from the rest of the world. Bin Laden was found and killed in Pakistan on May 2nd, 2011.
The 9/11 attacks have had a negative effect on the Muslim community. Now, they face hatred and are often the objects of suspicion. These attacks were actually done by the Muslim extremists. Extremists believed that people who did not follow their religion should die. Whenever Americans look at a Muslim person, they often are curious whether or not they are a terrorist. Basma Raddat, a Muslim who lived in Boston during the attacks, said “I did my part to explain to people around me that the people in the attacks were extremists, and we Muslims in general don’t agree with them. They don’t belong to us, we don’t belong to them. Islam is based on love and peace … and we were raised on being peaceful and helpful. If you can forgive, that is the better choice or instead of killing,” (Perkins). Muslims are frequently discriminated against even though most of them did not support the attacks.
After the 9/11 attacks, the American community went through some drastic changes. Many people died in these attacks and people all over the country were devastated. It was not only the Ny area that was impacted. The whole country felt the same loss because we are all americans. Americans view terrorists as evil people. They killed many family members and friends that worked in the New York Metropolitan area. The hijackers boarded their planes on September 11th, 2001 with ease. They were able to bring on box cutters without any security stopping them. Today, this would never be possible due to the fact that airport security has increased.
